Kampala, Uganda: Telecommunications giant MTN launches a big money promotion code named Kwata Cash in which it’s new and existing customers stand a chance of winning big cash and or fancy MTN goodies. The promotion which starts on Wednesday 19th March will see the telecoms giant give up to UGX 1bn in prizes. New customers will participate by buying an MTN Kabiriti or an MTN SIM pack while existing customers only need to load airtime.
Coming a few months after the company completed its upgrade and announced better rates on the back of increased efficiency, the promotion is another good reason for existing customers to stay on MTN and for new customers to get connected to its network.
Isaac Nsereko, MTN Uganda’s Head of Marketing told journalists, “Kwata Cash is MTN’s way of expressing appreciation to our customers for their support and loyalty over the last 10 years. Every week, cash prizes ranging from UGX 100,000 to UGX 10,000,000 will be given out. At the end of the promotion, one lucky customer will walk away with UGX 50,000,000.
Like MTN Cash back, we believe that this is another appropriate way to say thank you to our customers.” To enter the promotion, one needs to buy an MTN connected phone or SIM pack and make a call to any destination. Alternatively customers can purchase and load any amount of airtime and send an SMS to 170 at a cost of only UGX 110.
Nsereko further disclosed that upon entry into the promotion, a customer will receive an instant message thanking them for joining the promotion while established winners will receive congratulatory calls from MTN and also get information on how to pick their prizes.
“There is absolutely no way we were going to celebrate our ten-year Ugandan experience without involving the very people that have pushed us to the top,” Isaac added.
