Kampala, Uganda: Access to email while on the move has now been made even more convenient as MTN launches a new campaign dubbed Real Deal under the MTN Late Chat umbrella. MTN customers will now be able to get free email addresses directly from their Nokia mobile phones therefore increasing the avenues through which they can stay in touch with friends and family.
Taking into account the increased demand on people’s time and a heightened level of activities all round, MTN has partnered with Ovi Mail by Nokia, an easy-to-use email address designed for access from compatible Nokia handsets. MTN has launched this service with a special offer targeted at the youth market, with the Nokia 2330, which MTN has priced at an affordable UGX 155,000 pre loaded with UGX 1,000 airtime on MTN Late Chat.
Gasper Mbowa, MTN’s Segment Manager says: "MTN greatly believes in innovation and bringing relevant, easy to use and applicable products to our customers and so being the first to bring this service into the market reinforces our commitment to this core value. In partnership with Nokia, customers with compatible Nokia handsets will be able to get free Ovi emails on their handsets, and for a limited number of customers, upon activating Ovi email, they will receive 5MB of data for free, courtesy of MTN and Nokia."
The Real Deal campaign, especially packaged to attract the younger section of the market, offers MTN Late Chat customers the lowest internet surfing rate of UGX 1 per Kb and lower SMS fees, in addition to the free Ovi Email activated on the pocket friendly Nokia 2330.
During the campaign MTN will visit about 18 institutions of higher learning countrywide starting with Makerere University today at MUK sports ground. It will also engage influential people from international Youth Foundation, YEAH among others to inspire and motivate students on life values and career guidance. Other universities to be visited include Kampala University, Mbarara University, Gulu University, and Kumi University among others. Local leading entertainment artistes will be on hand to provide a fun and light element to the events including GNL, Navio, Cindy, Peter Miles, Bobi Wine, G-Force Dance Group, Infinity Dancers among others while professional DJ/VJ spinner Shiru will be playing and mixing sounds to give revelers a fresh appeal to the campus fest.
