Kampala, Uganda: MTN Uganda today met its key customers in Eastern Uganda in an open forum intended to better understand their needs as the telecommunication giant moves to further secure its market leadership position.
The forum held at Resort Village in Mbale Town attracted over 1,000 customers and had top MTN officials in attendance among them the outgoing and incoming Chief Executives, Noel Meier and Themba Khumalo respectively.
Speaking at the forum, Noel Meier said that the company always endeavors to put the customer first. “With over 4 million customers on our network, the choice of MTN as the network of choice for the majority of Ugandans is a clear endorsement of our products and services and we will ensure that we meet the needs of all our customers. The services we provide are exceptional and key to our leadership position in the market, but very important too are you who appreciate those services. We therefore request that you take advantage of our presence here today to share with us your concerns, issues and how best we can improve on them”
He further added that MTN will strive to add more value to whatever they already have in the market, citing MTN Mobile Money as an example of ways that MTN was improving their services. He thanked the customers for having whole heartedly embraced MTN Mobile Money further saying that the service was very reliable. Stressing on the reason as to why they attach an enormous amount of value to the regional forums, the Chief Executive Officer said that the regional forums enable them to know what transpires on the ground; therefore they are the heartbeat of MTN.
The MTN Customer Forum is a Customer Management initiative through which current and potential customers engage in a question and answer (Q&A) session on how best to offer services to the people amidst rising competition. The customers present on their side thanked MTN for accepting to listen to them and promised to keep working hand in hand with the company as they remained to be the beneficiaries.
The Eastern Region Customer Forum is the 3rd regional forum after similar ones held for the West Nile and Western Region which were held in Arua and Masaka respectively.
