MTN reinforced its position in Uganda as the leading telecommunications company in the country as they announced the acquisition of their 4 millionth customer. The milestone comes at a critical time in the industry where the existing competitive environment has been intensified by the arrival of yet another telecoms company.

The British Council in conjunction with MTN will on March 20^th host Chris Kinsville-Heyne a renowned crisis communications trainer, as guest speaker at the Management Forum – Uganda.

Telecommunications giant, MTN through its annual MTN Kampala Marathon has fulfilled its pledge to the Mama Bag and Return Kit project, a Uganda Red Cross initiative geared towards bettering the lives of expectant mothers in Northern Uganda.  Around UGX 67 million was raised from the 2008 edition of the MTN Kampala Marathon and is expected to help more than 1,300 mothers re-start their lives.

The MTN Group has announced that the successful launch of Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) in Uganda marks the beginning of a series of planned launches across its operations in Africa and Middle-East.

MTN customers can now finally use the much anticipated MTN Mobile Money transfer service following the commercial launch of the product today. Upon registration, users will be able to send and receive cash using their mobile phones.
