Occuptional Driver wins 4th MTN Goal of Goals House

Release date:3/23/2010

Kampala, Uganda: Hamza Yusuf a 48 year old driver from Moyo District is the lucky winner of the 4th fully furnished house in the ongoing MTN World Cup Goal of Goals promotion.

The previous three houses were won by Amon Turysingura of Nateete, a Kampala suburb, Godfrey Matege, a shopkeeper in Kamuli and Teddy Nabukwasi, a teacher in Mbale who is the first lady so far to win one of the houses.

Eight more houses are still on offer including prizes such as LG refridgerators, Sony DVD home theatre systems and Sony Bravia 32" plasma screen TV sets in the ongoing promotion which will close just in time for the opening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup where MTN is the official mobile telephone services provider.

Speaking during presentation of the house key to the winner, MTN General Manager, Sales Stanley Henning said the promotion has so far touched the lives of ordinary people in Uganda and made a huge difference in their lives. “We have seen a winner get a bride and move into a new home and we have also seen a shopkeeper and a single mother have their lives transformed thanks to the MTN Goal of Goals promotion. Today we witness yet another occasion where the life of Hamza Yusufu and his family will never be the same again thanks to the spirit of the FIFA 2010 World Cup”.

He added that, the houses will be a living reminder of two things; the first 2010 FIFA World Cup to be played in Africa and secondly, MTN’s commitment to fulfill the dreams of many Ugandans to be part of the global World Cup experience.

While receiving the keys to his fully furnished apartment, Yusuf was still shaking his head in utter disbelief. “This is beyond my wildest dreams,” he stated. “Miracles really still do happen.”

Other prizes to be given away include two LG refrigerators, two Sony Bravia 32" Plasma Screen TVs and a Sony DVD home theater system. With four houses already given away, eight more are still up for grabs. The results of the final winners are verified and certified by renowned accounting and auditing firm, Ernst & Young.

Last year, MTN Uganda rewarded six winners with all expenses paid trips to South Africa and tickets to watch the World Cup in June. One lucky customer will received a VISA card with $10,000 credit.
