1st Lady wins the 3rd MTN Goal of Goals House

Release date:3/15/2010

Kampala, Uganda: Teddy Nabukwasi became the first lady to take away the grand prize of a furnished house in the MTN Goal of Goals promotion, after the previous two were won by Amon Turysingura of Nateete and Godfrey Matege of Kamuli. There are still nine more houses on offer for lucky winners in the promotion which is expected to end in May, just in time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking while presenting the house keys to Nabukwasi, MTN Chief Financial Officer Nigel Williams said her win should inspire even more women to participate in the promotion so that they too can have an opportunity to offer a life changing experience to their family during the World Cup period.

“MTN promised to bring the World Cup experience to every Ugandan irrespective of gender or age and today Nabukwasi and her family will have the opportunity to join a global audience of over 2 billion who will watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup” said Williams. He added that the houses will forever be a pleasant memory of the First ever World Cup on African soil.

Nabukwasi was ecstatic. “This is unbelievable!” she said. “Not in a millions years would I ever think about winning something as big as a house. I am still struggling to believe it.”

Other prizes to be given away include two LG refrigerators, one Sony Bravia 32" Plasma TV and a Sony DVD Home Theater system. With 3 houses already houses given away, nine more are still up for grabs. Amon Turyasingura, a 23 year old resident of Nateete, a Kampala suburb won the first house and the second was won by Godfrey Matege a resident of Kamuli district.

The results of the final winners are verified and certified by renowned accounting and auditing firm, Ernst & Young.
