Kampala, Uganda: Franc Ngabo lifted April’s MTN Monthly Mug with a gross score of 75 and a hefty cash prize sent via MTN Mobile Money, and Rogers Byaruhanga took Runners-Up position at the Kitante Course club house Saturday evening.
The Professionals were led by George Olayo, who carded 72 Gross and won on Sudden Death at Hole Number 12. After 18 holes covered by largely fair weather, the Monthly Mugs were awarded to Group winners Henry Kamuntu (70 Nett), Edwin Tumusiime (71 Nett), Imran Karmali (67 Nett), Jenina Nasimolo (71 Nett) and Alice Kego (71 Nett).
Group Runners-Up Kin Kariisa (72 Nett), Syrus Mastara (72 Nett), Steve Okeyo (75 Nett), Peace Muyege (74 Nett) and Jyotsna Ruparelia (75 Nett) proudly took their mugs in a colourful ceremony presided over by Club Captain Okello Ocero and MTN Uganda Chief Marketing Officer Isaac Nsereko.
The UGX 500 million MTN Monthly Mug Competition has been held monthly since 2007 at the Uganda Golf Club.
The much-fought for monthly competition attracted a good number of participants and featured exciting moments on the field and at the “19th hole” after the awards ceremony.
