Main Purpose of the Job:

To develop and execute Strategy, Policies, and Procedures for the roll-out of Mobile Financial Services (MFS) initiatives and ensure sustainable market dominance as set out in the MTN Uganda Business Plan.


Prime responsibilities of the position:

  • Develop and implement the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) Strategy for the Ugandan Market.
  • Develop and implement an effective route to market plans to ensure market dominance of MTN MFS products/services.
  • To achieve Business Plan results as per the set targets and ensure market penetration and sales forecasts are met.
  • Implement channel innovation and ensure MTN Mobile Financial Services is sustainable innovates and build on its product portfolio in the market.
  • Ensure conformance to regulatory obligations of MTN MFS products while maintaining a balanced relationship with key stakeholders.
  • To review procedures, policies, workflows and quality control programs within the Mobile Financial Services division.
  • Develop the innovative Mobile Financial Services product/services and ensure product penetration in the identified market segments.
  • Effective management of the sales force to ensure maximum business impact in terms of new Customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Support initiatives aimed at the bottom of the pyramid and initiatives around Mobile Financial Services access.
  • Prepares monthly and other periodic reports to the CEO on the performance of the Mobile Financial Services products/services.​

The applicant must possess the following;

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Master's Degree will be an added advantage
  • Proficient with MS Office application especially Excel and PowerPoint


  • 6-8 years' experience in a Financial Service Environment with significant experience in the Management of 3rd Party Distribution Channels.
  • Prior Telecoms or Banking Industry experience is an added advantage.
  • Experience in People management is required.
