Professor William Bazeyo is a Ugandan physician, academic, and public health leader celebrated for advancing occupational medicine, higher education, and health systems in Africa. He served as Dean of the Makerere University School of Public Health and later as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, driving institutional reforms and resilience. Currently, he is Chief Executive Officer of the Africa One Health University Network (AFROHUN), a consortium building capacity to tackle global health challenges across nine African countries.He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University, a Master of Medicine in Occupational Medicine from the National University of Singapore, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Atlantic International University, a Doctor of Science (Honorary) from Tufts University, and a Certificate in Authentic Leadership Development from Harvard Business School. His leadership has been recognized with Uganda’s Highest Civilian Honour (2018), the Heroes in Health Lifetime Achievement Award (2022), and multiple continental awards in education and training.
