Friday, 13th September 2025 – Kampala, Uganda: MTN MoMo Uganda has today launched Term 3 of the “Win School Fees with MoMo” campaign, building on the excitement and momentum from earlier phases. The campaign has become a source of relief for over 50 families by giving them a chance to have their children’s school fees fully paid for an entire year.

The official handover was held in Wandegeya, where two teachers, Nalukwago Brenda and Kisaalita Juma, received school fees for an entire year. Their stories illustrate the meaningful difference the campaign is making in the lives of families across Uganda.

“Winning school fees for a year is such a relief and has lifted a great weight off my shoulders,” said Nalukwago Brenda.

Since its introduction, the campaign has seen more parents and guardians embrace MoMo as the convenient and secure way to pay school fees. This growth highlights how digital financial services are improving access and easing financial pressures for families nationwide.

Speaking at the launch, Steven Mutana, Chief Strategy and Stakeholder Management, MTN MoMo, said:

“Education is at the heart of Uganda’s progress, and we are proud to support parents and guardians through this campaign. By rewarding customers with fully paid school fees, we are reaffirming our commitment to financial inclusion and to empowering communities through impactful innovations that go beyond transactions.”

Viola Namuyaba, Senior Manager, Payments, MTN MoMo, added:

“At MTN MoMo, we understand that paying school fees is one of the biggest priorities for Ugandan families. Through the Win School Fees campaign, we are not only making payments simpler and more secure, but we are also giving parents the peace of mind that their children’s education could be fully covered. This is how we bring real value and convenience to our customers’ everyday lives.”

The “Win School Fees with MoMo” campaign is aligned with MTN’s overarching Power to Be More platform, which underscores the company’s commitment to empowering Ugandans with digital and financial tools that help them achieve more for themselves and their families.
