MTN Uganda Donates Ugx 10 Million to Northern Anglican Cluster Ahead of Martyrs Day Celebrations

• MTN Uganda has donated Ugx 10 million to the Northern Anglican Cluster leading this year’s Anglican Martyrs Day celebrations.
• The donation was officially handed over in Arua to Rt. Rev. Dr. Andaku Charles Collins, Bishop of Ma’di West Nile.
• The MoMo Pay code (307776) has been introduced to allow the public to support the preparations.
• This follows MTN’s earlier contribution to Lugazi Diocese for the Catholic celebrations, under the theme “Together, our Faith is Unstoppable.”
Wednesday 21st May 2025 – Arua Uganda: – MTN Uganda has today extended its continued support to the Anglican Church by donating Ugx 10,000,000 to the Northern Cluster, which is leading this year’s Anglican Martyrs Day celebrations.
The symbolic handover ceremony was held this morning in Arua and was presided over by the Bishop of Ma’di West Nile, Rt. Rev. Dr. Andaku Charles Collins, who is also a key figure in coordinating the Northern Cluster’s preparations. The Northern Cluster comprises five dioceses: Kitgum Diocese, Lango Diocese, Diocese of West Lango, Nebbi Diocese, and Diocese of Ma’di West Nile.
Speaking during the handover, Phillip Odoi, MTN Uganda’s Commercial Head for the Northern region, reaffirmed MTN’s commitment to supporting causes that unite Ugandans in faith and purpose:
“It is an honour for MTN Uganda to stand with the Anglican Church and the faithful in Northern Uganda as we commemorate this deeply spiritual occasion. We believe that faith unites communities, and ‘Together, our Faith is Unstoppable.’”
To enable wider participation, MTN Uganda has also introduced a dedicated MoMo Pay fundraising code, 307776, through which the public can make contributions to support the preparations.
Receiving the contribution, Rt. Rev. Dr. Andaku Charles Collins expressed gratitude to MTN for its support:
“We are grateful to MTN Uganda for this generous support. It is a timely boost to our preparations, and a true testament that when we come together in faith, we can achieve great things.”
This donation follows MTN Uganda’s earlier contribution to Lugazi Diocese, which is leading this year’s Catholic Martyrs Day celebrations. Across both denominations, MTN continues to promote shared values of unity, faith, and community support.
