What is Kibanda xpress?
We (MTN Uganda) have partnered with Pearl wood and YOTV Channels to create a video on demand channel within the YOTV Channels mobile App called Kibanda Xpress to promote a rich catalog of local Ugandan Movies (Kiniuganda).
If my YOTV Channels subscription is active can I access the VOD channel or access will be only for content on YOTV?
No one will only access YOTV Channels content and will not access the VOD channel content, to view the VOD content one will have to pay an additional fee to access any local movie content of their choice.
To purchase a movie must one have an active YOTV Channels subscription?
Yes, one must have an active YOTV subscription from any of the available subscription offers i.e., hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly.
What is the validity of a purchased movie?
A movie purchased will be valid for 24hrs following which it will expire, meaning one must watch the purchased movie within 24hrs.
If one purchases a movie and validity has not expired but the validity of the YOTV subscription has expired what happens?
He or she will be able to watch there purchased movie within 24hrs whether users YOTV channels subscription has expired but will not be able to access any YOTV Channels content
Can one purchase more than one movie?
Yes, one can purchase more than one movie at time e.g. Each movie having a separate expiry timestamp. e.g., if I purchase Movie1 at 11:00am it will expire at 11:00am the next day, if I purchase Movie2 at 11:30am it will expire at 11:30am the following day.
Can one pay for the same movie before expiry?
No one cannot pay for the same movie before expiry.
How does one pay for Kibanda xpress?
One pays within the app and deductions are off mobile money and not Airtime. Select movie to watch> Tap on play > you will be prompted to pay
What are the charges for Kibanda xpress?
For now, each movie goes for 1000/-
Can one purchase Kibanda xpress for another?
Yes, one can purchase for another by selecting “purchase from another number “on the payment option.
