Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is a policy designed to ensure that all customers receive consistent and reliable internet service. It prevents any single user from consuming excessive amount of bandwidth which could negatively impact the experience for others. This policy promotes fairness and stability, ensuring optimal speeds and connectivity for everyone during both peak and off-peak hours.
6. What is MTN’s statement of Fair Usage Policy?
The MTN unlimited packages are for personal and residential use. This service is not for redistribution, resale, and/or extension to other premises. The current offers do not have any volume or capacity caps, and we provide services up to the stated speeds for the different packages offered.
7. Where can I purchase a WakaNet router?
WakaNet Routers can be bought from any MTN Service Center or any MTN dealer shop.
You may also apply for a WakaNet Router from anywhere using your MyMTNApp or the MTN Website.
8. How do I setup the WakaNet 5G router?
This is a plug-and-play device that requires no installation. Simply insert the registered WakaNet 5G Router number with an active WakaNet 5G Speed Bundle, and you’re ready to connect.
9. How many Devices Can connect to the WakaNet Router at the same time?
It can connect to up to 32 Devices.
10. Where Can I use the WakaNet 5G router?
The service is available nationwide in areas covered by 3G, 4G, and 5G networks.
11. What is the Validity of the WakaNet 5G Speed Bundles?
They are Valid for 30 Days.
12. How do I Renew My Subscription?
Subscription is renewed using the My MTN App or by dialing *100*23#, select WakaNet 5G through Mobile money and airtime.
13. How do I check my WakaNet 5G Router Bundle Balance?
Dial *150*3*4#, or log into the MyMTN App. Navigate to WakaNet > WakaNet 5G Router, then click Check Status and enter your WakaNet 5G Router number (0394XXXXXX).
14. Which Number range Can load WakaNet 5G router Bundles?
Only exclusive number ranges assigned to 5G devices can activate WakaNet Speed Bundles.
15. How can I change my Password?
Connect device to internet, browse with http://192.168.1.1. Login with Username and Password as indicated on the device sticker at the bottom/ back of the device to access the change password option.
16. How to can I know my Wi-Fi Connection Password?
Check on the Router Device sticker at the back or bottom use the Wi-Fi Key to connect.
17. How to Reset Router Device?
Look for small hole on Device labelled with reset. Hold down a Sim ejector Pin, wait for the device lights to restart to complete the reset process then reconnect.
18. What does it mean that my 4G router is geo-locked?
Your 4G router is geo-locked, meaning it is restricted to work only at the physical address you provided during the initial coverage and capacity check. It will not function if moved to a different location.
